the image comments on western societies consumption of food, when there are people in third world countries critically suffering from famine.
the white pixels were bread (untoasted) mounted straight on to the board and has lasted a very long time without going mouldy, (that speaks for all the preservatives in white bread), and the other pieces are cooked to varying degrees.
the toast is mounted on to 10 3mm mdf boards.
